Newsletter No. 2 - December 2000
Thanks to all of you that have expressed an interest in the event. Amongst the entries received so far, we have an Austin A30 AS3 1952 model Chassis Number AS3 6697 and an Austin A35 2 Door 1957 model Chassis Number AS5 119308. Our challenge is to have every model in the range represented at Echuca.
We also wish to clarify who may participate in the event. Basically it is open to any enthusiast who has a passion for the Austin A30/35. You do not necessarily need to have an A30/35 in order to participate. However the cavalcade of cars through the streets of Echuca on the Monday will be restricted to Austin A30 and 35’s only. We have also had inquiries from those who wish to bring along two or more A30’s. The committee certainly welcomes as many Austin’s as we can muster (we are aiming for fifty). Therefore in recognition of this, the registration fee for each additional vehicle will only be $10.
Members have also requested if there are alternative accommodation venues (specifically caravan parks) other than the three official motels listed in our first newsletter. Please find attached a list of caravan parks located in Echuca and in Moama
I have also taken the opportunity to list the many attractions in Echuca. This may be of interest to those entrants who may wish to linger a little longer in the district once the event is over.

The committee is at present investigating the possibility of arranging a commemorative 50th Anniversary model car. We are also looking at having a baseball type cap prepared for the event. We will keep you posted in our subsequent newsletters.
We have also had contact from our UK sister club – The Austin A30 and A35 Owners Club.
Mr. Andy Leavis (Publicity Officer and Overseas Contact) has rung from the UK to inform me that to the best of his knowledge we are the only A30 club in the world that is so well advanced in its plans for celebrating this occasion! They in the UK are only now thinking of what special activities they will undertake for their celebrations.
We are also maintaining close contact with our New Zealand counterparts in the exchange of information and ideas.
A reminder to all participants to book their accommodation as soon as possible. We have been informed that accommodation can become scarce during this long weekend. See our fist newsletter for preferred accommodation locations.
Attached is a Registration and Entry Form. Please return it together with your cheque as soon as possible so as to assist in budgeting for the event. If you do not wish to remain on our mailing list, please drop us a line.
Please come along and join us in making this a memorable event. It will be the biggest gathering of A30/35’s in the southern hemisphere (maybe the world!) – so be part of this historic occasion. You only have ten months to get those vehicles on the road!
We anticipate the next newsletter to issue over Easter.
May we wish you the very best for the forthcoming festive season.
See you in Echuca 2001
