The German Dixi

Dixi Tourer

Dixi Saloon

The first German Austin Sevens were built by the Dixi Company located at Eisennach in 1927 with approximately 11,000 Dixi’s being manufactured in the first year. The company was then purchased by B.M.W. with a further 40,000 cars being produced until 1931. The engine was a mirror image of the British design (as was the American Bantam). The later B.M.W. manufactured Dixi’s featured a more stylish body design and some suspension changes on certain models. A total of eight models were offered by Dixi in 1931 including a sports and commercial model.
