When rebuilding late "D" type differentials, care should be taken to ensure the bushes shown above do not have excessive wear. This is usually reflected in the axle gear showing extreme wear and the gears taking on a "pointed" appearance. The original bushes are rolled sleeves - commonly used during this period. Some clearance must be allowed between the bush ID and the axle OD. Axle diameters seem to vary and should be checked before determining the final ID's of the new bushes.
