Austin Seven Ruby (1934)

The Austin Seven Ruby was first produced in 1934.

The first Ruby (or ‘ARQ Ruby’) saloon was manufactured in July 1934. The Ruby featured a new body design that enhanced the appearance of the Seven in an attempt to keep up with the times. The new styled body was fitted on a ’low frame’ chassis. Other changes were a cowled radiator, hinged side vents on the bonnet and a slightly swept back incorporating a spare wheel cover. The New Ruby (or ‘ARR Ruby’) followed two years later in July 1936. Ruby based Vans were also introduced during this time. The ‘AVJ Ruby’ van started production in November 1935 and was replaced by the ‘AVK Ruby’ van in July 1937.
