HISTORIC WINTON - Australia's largest and most popular all-historic motor race meeting - is on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th May 2001. Over 10,000 people are expected to attend over the two days.
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of HISTORIC WINTON and is, next to Bathurst, the longest continuous running motor racing event in Australia.
The 25th annual Historic Winton features over 400 vintage and historic racing cars and bikes. Dating from 1921 to 1977 and ranging from cars as diverse as early Sunbeams to Formula 5000s, they compete in 44 racing events, including regularity trials.
Highlights of this year's weekend are:
Winton Motor Raceway, 10 kms north of Benalla on the Old Hume Highway, is unique in motor racing with most of the circuit visible from any spectator point, and there's ample parking around the track. Full catering is available.
Racing starts at 1.00pm on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday.
Entrance fees are $10 per person on Saturday and $15 on Sunday.
Entry to the pit area is $2.
Children 14 and under are admitted free.
