Regarding no clutch movement. Loosen the pinch bolt on the pedal and push the thrust race forward using the lubricating shaft as a lever, which rotates the clutch spindle and arms forward, then tighten pinch bolt with pedal as far 'out' as possible. This takes out a lot of the travel in the pedal. Easier with 2 people but I have learned to do it single handed, although the garage floor does get a bit hard these days. Also, I adopt the other 'bodge' of placing a washer between the pressure plate and the flywheel when locating and tightening the 6 bolts that secure the pressure plate to the flywheel. This can cause slip but I always do it with double clutch springs fitted. None of this is good engineering but my 65 has what could almost be called a smooth clutch. You are probably starting to learn that Sevens are not not as other cars!
