Gudgeon pin bolts High tensile or mild steel?

I have recently had the experience of two newly installed allen headed high tensile bolts fitted to the conrods of my Austin 10 snapping and causing a bit of anx, has anybody else had experience of these bolts snapping? or should I go back to using old mild steel 1/4 BSF bolts?
