WELL, Christine and I have been in New Zealand for a couple of days. I come back and this is what happens! I have had the joy of broken bolts, tram tracks in an "other wise perfect" bore are a sad sight! I would certainly recommend the use of "better" bolts, these of course include socket headed cap screws!

I fell into the trap of not using the club spares bolts, I used mild steel instead. The club bolts, which initially are sourced through the UK, are not mild steel! After this mistake, I now use SHCS, BUT as an added security measure I always fit pistons with circlips in the pins. Make it idiot prove! Can't hurt?
