Johannes, sorry, I did fail to understand your question properly and yes I do think it will weaken the back plate if you make the hole the same size; In fact I would say you must not do it. I have tried to use an adjustable reamer and failed miserably; the pins would not go in due to the misalignment. I then had to put in new bushes, buy standard pins and buy a reamer - then available but expensive (£50 Stirling) and send away my axle to have the eyes shrunk back to standard size. The axle, incidentally, was done by the Seven Workshop:- The Seven Workshop Elms Cross Yard, Frome Road, Bradford On Avon, Wiltshire. BA15 2EA.
'phone 01225 868696 fax 01225 868828 They could probably do the whole job for you or suggest who to do it. I know of an axle that has been sent over from Sweden and back this way. I am not sure where at the moment reamers can be bought - anyone care to comment?
