Dear Gert,

I recognise your name from the mailing list of the Austin Seven Owners Club (London). I hope all is well in Denmark. The answer to your earlier question of 'where to get an aluminium inlet manifold' is not to manufacture one which would be very expensive but to advertise in all the Austin 7 Club magazines and I am sure one will appear.

The Frank Ashby steering wheel does not look like a Ruby one but has a similar central boss and fitting. It has four main struts between the boss and the rim and these are made up of thin chrome plated steel spokes. A similar wheel can be seen on page 441 of The Austin Seven Source Book by Bryan Purves and I will try and send you a photocopy of this in the post. I too have a 1935 Nippy and I am also looking for a Frank Ashby wheel! The registrar of the Austin Seven Sports Register, Chris Taylor, was manufacturing some of these wheel at a price of £250.00 but I believe this project has come to a halt. I will write to him to find out.

The dip switch I have on my Nippy is similar to a 'box type'. Lastly, I will measure the wooden tool box and reply soon.

Howard.
