Melvin If you have just lost the thread,its best to have a thread insert fitted,a special kit is needed to do this job. Really its best to take the engine out to do this, because if you mess up you will really have a problem.You could also have the hole welded up and retap standard size,the only problem with this is that if you have an early sandcast crankcase you may find that oil has soaked right into the metal making it impossible to weld. good luck Ian Moorcraft
