For engine and gearbox:I use correct length spanner for nut(not socket set),pull down tight plus one more flat.After engine has been run for a while, turn head nuts one more flat. If you must use a torque spanner,I agree with Barry that 20lb ft is the figure to use As far as I know "Austins" never printed a list of torque settings for the "Seven", now 70 years on you have to be very carefull with old metal,one very important tip--- dont work on a cold winter day when the metal is cold, you stand much more chance of stripping a thread or even breaking something off, warm everything up first.
