i recently purchased(prior to xmas 1999) my first austin seven...a 1929 Chummy.....both knowing the previous owner and having an excellent club back up.( prewar austin drivers club..brisbane...queensland )...after a little work over..didn t even change the oil. then the very next day drove it from brisbane to mt tamborine a trip of approx 200 km ( round trip ) and apart from a timing problem fixed along the way.the car never missed a beat. ive done very little work on my chummy but am on as many rallies as possible so its really up to you..a complete engine rebuild will happen...but for now im enjoting the driving and friendships made along the way. the only real rule of austineering is to enjoy every thing you do in it. good luck many miles of happy motoring.
