I too have found porous heads and I am suspicious about any sleeved engine - I guess you mean it was sleeved to try and overcome the problem? One thing thats springs to mind also, is water leakage thrugh the manifold studs, back into the combustion chambers. Many Sevens do seem to suffer from water in the bores to some extent, a by-product of being so old unfortunately. Are you sure the head and block faces are absolutely flat?
