At a local Victorian Austin swapday recently, I spied a webbed rear axle. As I have 2 the same dated 1923, I presumed it would be also. However it is dated 1925. Were these produced with the 3 strengthening webs as late as 1925? Or is this a later banjo fitted to 1923 "trousers"? It is of standard size, that is to say it's not a military or sports "Ulster" style large diameter to accomodate the oversize crownwheel.(One of these banjos is saught though!) It has been suggested this may be a Australian only mod. Your comments..
