Philip like you i put my 28 chummy back on the road after a number of years, i use unleaded without to much trouble, however i dont do to many miles, but others in the Bristol club that do, do not seem to have had any problems. i do find that if you leave unleaded in the tank for more than a few weeks, it is very hard if not impossible to start the car without draining the tank and putting fresh petrol in, when you lay the car up for the winter make sure you drain the tank. i also have found it an advantage to lag the exhaust pipe with asbestos (just under the carb) to stop the petrol from atomizing, which it did on hot days. regards ian
