Hi,

This is the second time I have been asked about the source of arms in the last few days. I agree the liability issue is a big off-put, although I did think the racing arms I have seen might be publically available, maybe someone in 750 will comment, I am but don't know. Rather like cranks, it is almost as frightening to test as to not test and I suspect most people here will do the latter, rather than end up with a completly undrivable car. This may be a head in the sand answer and one I would not personally advocate by my own example, but the fact remains that I estimate if you did a poll at Bealieu for instance, at least 95% of people would never have tested either! According to Ian's figures and my estimate then, 50% of all Austin Sevens driving around in the UK have cracked arms and are a potential accident. This means also, that at least one of my 3 cars has a cracked arm too, for I have never tested them, two are driven very fast, but the failure I suggest, will occur in the heavy, slow tourer! Preferably (and probably) on lock at 5 mph I hope!! What are we going to do chaps?
