Yes you can buy new drums. Yes they will fit both types of wheels. BUT, they are made here in Brisbane, I have them all round on both the 29 Chummy, and the 35 Sports.
They cost only $160.00 per pair, not $120.00 each as in Melbourne. They were avalable here for a long time before the Melbourne club even thought about them!
