Keith: The front timber member on my May 29 chummy is 39 3/4" long, 4" wide and 3/4" thick. The end radius is 2 1/2" and the nose radius 3/8". These seem to be standard dims. for chummy front hood peaks which are all wider than the screen. When correctly fitted they lie flat and not vertical as the picture in Purves. The dimension from the front of the nose radius to the front of the top screen rail is 3". My timber is orig and the dimensions are identical to those on a friends Aug 29 chummy. We have also seen the photo of the rear metal section in Purves but when trying to decide what a 29 hood SHOULD look like so as to recover the hood of the Aug 29 car we never saw a car with this fitting. We did conclude, however, that the frames are not all alike, particularly the later in 1929 you go -no doubt associated with the introduction of the AE Tourer body in the later part of that year.
