Thanks Steve and Ian for your comments. One of my main concerns with my hood is the overall width, as well as the "different" style of hood bows. I will include some overall measurements of my hood bow widths, starting from the wood on top of the windscreen working to the rear.43 1/2" - 43 1/2" - 44 1/2" - 431/2". As you can see it is wider than the measurements given to me by Greg! Any more comments on originality or should I just "cut" it down to standard measurements. Bearing in mind that this is an English bodied A7 bought to Australia the 1970's. Regarding the front timber member in the picture in Purves, it it sitting flat on the windscreen. You can see the two locking devices that lock it onto the windscreen staunchions. Exactly the same as my A7.
