Ron,

This was a useful exercise (for me) and interesting generally, but it may not give you what you want yet. The first car was my special, which has a late-Ruby head, but with 80 thou taken off; the battery is flat and it is only just about zero deg C outside, so I put the battery on charge! The second was my Ulster which is supercharged, but has a late-Ruby head too. It also has a 12 volt battery operating the 6 volt starter, albeit a bit slowly today, so this is hardly a good test but it gave 150-200 psi which surprised me a bit. The third test was on my tourer with a low-compression head and a tired battery and this gave zero on one cylinder (!) and 70 psi on another; this car gives about 90 psi normally. All these are taken with three plugs still in and with the throttle closed. Will test the other car when the battery is charged! I reckon the 95-110 you got is not far off.

Barry.
