After completing the Milano/Big seven and having had a successful first "racing" season, I decided to rebuild the back end.
The crown wheel and pinion turned out to be fine, so just a case of bearings, seals and "some" tidying up.
The car was used last weekend on a club run, and developed a "rumble" in the back end. It all feels great on the bench, the set-up was a educated guess, a "that feels good" type of backlash feel.
Can anyone help with some "proper" details, re backlash, preloads etc? The backend develops a rumble, it appears closer to the front of the torque tube than in the diff.
Even after two rebuilds of the the torque tube, nothing can be found to explain the rumble!
Some help please!
