Thanks Greg, Both the Motometers I have do not have a thread in the tube, they have a groove in the end for a small brass plug (missing on mine) that's interesting about not being held in by anything because I wondered about the affect it would have on the reading, it makes more sense the way you have described. thanks again Ian
