Charles, If you are out to supercharge an Austin 7 I would not bother with Blown Ulster Timing Cases!! Most people take the drive from the camshaft pulley, using a VEE belt pulley. You can see this on several Austin 7s if you go to a race meeting or hill climb. I recommend VSCC Prescott, Aug 4-5th. This has the disadvantage of running at half crankshaft speed and usually the pulleys double the speed to get back to crankshaft speed. I am constructing a single seater with a pressurised oil supply fed into the front of the crank via a special nose piece. I have made up a shaft like the starter dog but longer and without the handle engagement slots. This screws into the front of the crank as usual, but is also bolted to the large timing gear so it will not unscrew. This shaft comes out of the front of the nosepiece and will carry a sprocket to chain drive a blower...in the future! I will use normal induction to debug the car and get used to it. Tim Myall in England, phone 01342 870988, can supply the modified nosepiece, I mad the drive shaft myself. Hope this is of interest. Sean Smedley
