Bruce I have a system very similar to page 185 in the companion, except that the rubber bushes are 38 dia. I suspect that the large dia bush takes care of the strange trajectory. If the axle followed the arc of the arm it would move about 5mm sideways for a 50mm lift. I dont think this is the case!! If the arms locked the axle movement into a perfect arc, both sides would have to pivot an identical amount, that is one side would have to go down and the other side up The benefit of the system is that the motion is fairly constant and the design well proven .
