Bruce, if I may answer for Barry, the works Twin Cam racers ran 5.25 x 16". But suggest no-one uses this size on their Ruby, as will rub the wheelarches!! (Many may not know that here in Oz nearly all Ruby-type models ran and run 4.75 x 16" although there are a few fully-exported cars here with the Longbridge 17"). The reason most Grasshoppers ran twin spares was not just for extra weight over the rear wheels as most think (although it helped), but front and rear wheels differed, so spares were 16" and 17". It would probably be fair to say that 15s mainly came in with the 750 Formula, (as most builders used the Williams book as their bible), not just for ratio but to lower the car as well. Most common are West London wheels with modified hubs, many with offset 15" rims. The Austin 7 Formula here in Oz which differed only slightly from UK found some cars fitted with 13" rims and wide tyres. So whether original or not you may find 13, 15, 16, 17, 18 or 19" on your A7 Special!!! Cheers, Bill
