Ian, this does seem to be a problem. At our local A7/VSCC clubnight, yesterday, the same topic was discussed and your points are obviously worth noting. The concensus was change the Zenith for an SU, which spoils the looks obviously. This was from an A7 man of some years standing who tried 5 bronze carbs and had given up!! I do wonder if there is a petrol problem? My friend arrived to see me on Monday night, just as I got home from work with his jets for me to examine. Unfortunately, he incurred a £60 fine for speeding, too (not in the Chummy)!
