I currently use NGK plugs with a number 6 temperature rating. Over the years with various tuning settings etc etc, I have noticed the plugs are always a bit darker than I would like. I have never seen that nice grey colour! I am using a head equivalent to a late ruby head. The engine is fairly standard. The car performs OK and is not running rich. I currently use a plug gap of .020. The question is.... does any one use a hotter plug? I was thinking of trying a 4 ?? The NGK web site at: http://www.ngksparkplugs.com has useful information on this topic.
