Not a scientific answer but electricity behaves in the same way as many have learnt to apply to the fairer sex - follow the line of least resistance! So that means that most if not all of the spark would take place at the smallest gapped electrode leaving the others wondering when they were going to get a turn. This would defeat the purpose of a multi-electrode plug. How's that for logic?
