David, I am not sure if you know that there are a number of different hood rest brackets depending on the year of your car, Even the very simple early ones are a lot more difficult to make than they look, after October 28 a clip was used instead of the strap down type, these again would be hard to make though not impossible. I can get you a contact for the 1922/1928 types (two types), but all of the later ones may be more difficult. What is the year and month of your car?, I will dig out the contacts address.
