Re The Brough Superior Story. I have in my collection a 1933 or 34 OEC Duplex steering motorcycle which I purchased 10 or 12 years ago, this bike was set up to have a transversely mounted Austin 7 engine. The motor runs across the frame, this is not as bad as it sounds as these duplex steering OEC motorcycles are very wide and it does not look out of place. The engine drives via a sprocket outside the flywheel to the largest 4 speed burman motorcycle gearbox made. When purchased the bike was very incomplete and I was unsure of its authenticity but have now come across another OEC with identical set up in Southwards Motor Museum ( Near Wellington New Zealand). This bike is more complete than mine but is in a very sorry state and has been modified. Over the next couple of years I intend to restore my bike and attach a sidecar I have purchased for it. If anybody has more information on this bike or the one in Southwards I would be very interested. I believe they both came from the South Island of New Zealand.
