John, My racing engine described a few letters back has the Tim Myall modifications. The only item not mentioned to you by other helpful people is the pressure regulator valve. High pressure oil comes out of the modern pump, through the filter and into this valve. The valve has one inlet (just mentioned) and three outlets. Two regulated outputs feed the crank (via the modified nosepiece) and the front camshaft bearing via the 1/4BSP hole in the front of the block. The 3rd output is after the spring/ball valve and is "waste" low pressure oil that is dumped back into the sump via some convenient hole in the block...the unused fuel pump location in my case. Physically, this valve is a 1" x 1" x 4" block of aluminium. I have a spare one going cheaply if you are interested! I had to modify the design to fit my setup so the original is surplus. You must have this valve otherwise on start up with cold oil the pressure will go through the roof and blow any oil seals. Best of luck! Sean Smedley
