John I have drilled out a ruby crank, plugged the splash feed holes in the crank with brass plugs, plugged the oil exit holes in the big ends of the Rods, belled the bearings by scraping (important) cut off the crank handle extension on the alum casting, welded on a flat plate, fitted a 6 mm extension to the front of the crank shaft and fitted a small (1 1/2" dia) Alum. housing containing a lip seal and a bearing to the front of the housing. It has been done several times here in Auckland and many times in Melbourne and works very well! I have made dimensioned drawings of the bits and pieces and will post them to you if you send me an address. regards Ron
