Ron,
I notice you belled the rods. Obviously, as you mentioned plugging, they are white-metal ones. Although I have an original pressure-fed motor, albeit with Allen crank and Renault 8 rods, it is two bearing and hence whips. What does one do with shell bearings? You can't bell those surely?
