I have recently bought an A7 special with a very ominous rattle ( as opposed to a rumble!) when the engine is running but the price seemed right!. Took the sump off and all looked ok. Started it last weekend for a mechanic friend to listen to and typically, no rattle! Sorted out one or 2 other things today on it and tried to start it up. Got it going , it stalled and on trying to re-start noticed the fan was not rotating even though the starter was engaging and turning the fly wheel( I put it in gear and car moved on the starter) . Further investigation revealed that the main pulley was also not rotating. Any ideas? Thanks
