Firstly, Loctite 515 and no gaskets is the stuff to use - it is expensive though. Eventually, all Sevens weep oil due to the flexure of the chassis.

You should still be able to access the pistons through the plug holes. Put it in gear and push it and observe - don't use daughter's finger! If they move then the crank my not be completely broken, but it still might move. Can you at least get something next to the flywheel and prise it around a bit? If no 4 is bust then it will probably move a lot - if loose it will probably move a little.

I suspect by taking the sump off again you will get the best idea of the problem. As Bruce says, if it is merely a loose flywheel, you must not go overboard with grinding it on, or it will bottom out on the camshaft end-bush bolts. The Woodruff key must be perfect, even if, like the axle shafts, to which the same grinding cautions apply, the key is only for location. It is the taper which transmits the drive. Loctite retainer should be used here, not the 515 gasket variety. Good luck! G
