To answer your questions a/ Yes, I have usually knocked out the jets and tapped the holes to take a 1/4 bsf grub screw b/ I've never worried much about this but I think that I've followed the advice in the "Companion" about oil holes for the cam. c/ No - I'm using Australian JP pistons via Tony Leslie in the UK. d/ Suitable touring cam depends upon your gearbox and axle set up. With a standard 3 speed box and 5.25 back axle/19 inch wheel I found a standard cam with flatter tappets ok. The next stage is a Jack French type cam which may be a bit brutal unless you like revs (CR box etc). I'm currently running a Tim Myall race cam which is great fun but even more extreme. e/ I just went down to the local motor factors and found a 7/8 inch rotating shaft lip seal in the catalogue (from dimensional index in the back.) Everything else was machined to suit the seal!
