During my current restoration of a 1936 Ruby and in order to fit seatbelts in the front i have had the roof spot welded along the gutter seam. Hopefully this will strengthen the door pillar area so the seatbelts diagonal and lap can be installed. The rear is different and other than putting in reinforcing strips under the seat panel and boot there is nowhere else to give the necessary strength.

Your local authorised seatbelt fitter can advise.

Thanks for the reminder about under 5's as i hadn't thought about that or about fitting them in the back
