I have a brand new engine with all new Phoenix crank, valves, etc. Its pressure fed. Its in a sprint car, so road running in is impractical. How should I attempt to bed this motor in? I would appreciate comments on the following plan. Use cheap oil to start the car up. Run the engine stationary up to 2-3000 rpm for 10 minute sessions. I have a good electric fan and can provide a good blast into the radiator. After several such sessions (how many?) drain out cheap oil, change the filter, and refill with a good 10W40. I will probable get the rear wheels spinning on axle stands as the diff is also newly built. All advice will be gratefully received! Thanks, Sean.
