Ian its an age old question, I don't know the answer. Lots of years here fixing fuel tanks and things "generally" petrol, no "petrol proof grease" that I know of. I wonder how a Loctite 510 type product would go? BUT It's great to have the site back, caused a few questions to be raised. I think a few of us even had to resort to a conversation with the missus!
