Recently there was discussion about the rake/angle of Ulster Steering Box on the chassis. Someone mentioned that the Gunn family in UK manufactured them. The originator of the remade Ulster steering boxes Colvin Gunn sadly passed away earlier this year...an Austin 7 enthusiast all his life and a machinist extraordinaire....he is sadly missed by all who knew him. His daughter Rebecca still campaigns his original Ulster in VSCC events. One of his sons James Gunn who is also a top grade machinist has taken over where his Dad left off. Deidre and I visited the Gunn Farm named "ecurie fusil" (which translates to gun/canon farm) the other day for a most hospitable visit and left much later than we intended with would you believe a repro Ulster steering box (housing only) for our Tourist Trophy replica. James has lots of other repro bits for A7 Specials as well...water pump etc. He will be visiting Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in February/March 2002 to attend Philip Island Races and the F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne. He has offered to bring with him any of the above alloy bits that the Aussie A7 guys may want. I can highly recommend his work and his expertise. His contact details are;

We hope this info helps others.
