I don't have a problem with leaks on the Ulster - maybe I'm lucky, because my Triumph Bonneville (happy days) used to leak overnight -on or off. However, it does run on 40:1 petrol, with a dollop of "R" thrown in for good measure. This probably lubricates the tap and stops leaks too?
