Hi Ian. I use a modern ball-type tap. The ball revolves in PTFE cups. East to turn - never leaks and is about the same size as an original chummy tap. Only downside is that it is chromed (I could get that off) and the lever is plastic (but I could make a brass one as it is very simple). I used to get leaks on all other types of taps at some stage but never with these. I have the same type on the Ulster and that was running for over 20 years without leaking. Happy new year.
