John, This is an argument that has gone on for years, many will tell you that A7s were a cheap car and therefore "never" had expensive double duck hoods, My original 28 hood frame had the remains of the hood tacked to the wooden peak , it was double duck, there were no other holes in the wood so have to assume it was duck, My mate bought an original 25 "pram hood" frame at Beaulieu Rally a couple of weeks ago, it had the remains of the hood, again double duck. My own view is that the Rexene type of hood was standard, but you may have been able to specify duck at extra cost. I used duck but wish I had used Rexene, As the bird droppings are impossible to remove! Regards Ian
