.....I've never known them to block as suggested by history - has Bill?

Coming home from a recent Rally, I noticed the pressure at circa 30 mph was around 8 psi, normally it's 2 - 3 psi. I mentioned it to our local oracle and he suggested clearing the jets. after poking a piece of wire ('L' shaped so it doesn't disappear down into the sump!) down through the jets I was back to 2 - 3 psi, so I would suggest they do block, or at least become restricted.

Finding the hole was the difficult part as the jet is raised slightly above the oil gallery floor, therefore moving a piece of wire around hoping to feel it drop into the hole doesn't work.

I had to look through a small mirror down the access hole to realise the problem before getting the wire down properly - remember the side water casting is in the way.
