Yes chaps it’s the radial wear I am checking, I’m ok with setting the end float……
I currently measure .003” to .004” over on the diameter of both front and back bushes.
An old engine rebuilder here seems to think you actually need around .003” when fitting these types of bronze bushes. And you MUST make sure you have NO binding high spots when the camshaft is rotated. His reasoning is 45 years of experience and the fact that this style of bush expands and the clearance thus reduces when the engine is hot.
