Bruce, yes I meant to say the 1thou/inch was only for the ends.

I also meant to say I would like to know just how much the oil takes up, so if you can find that out and the clearance at 100 deg then it will be really interesting. 2-3 thou may well be the best we can get anyway due to wear. I did have several bushes of varying clearances - not sure if I still have as they weren't all mine and I may have given them back.

Incidentally, how's the petrol situation over there?

4* LRP is to be discontinued over here soon, but I've never used it, always having the luxury of genuine 4* leaded at my local garage. However, due to new regulations, they have to upgrade their pumps, which is too expensive and they are to stop selling it; they already have with other petrol. This means going too far to the next station, so I guess its the additives. What do you do? In NZ for instance, I think they were going back to leaded, because of unleaded having more carcinogen worries than global warming ones.
