Hello Guys , I have watched this debate with interest, but am almost ashamed to say that I have never put a mic. on the end of the camshaft or checked the inside of the bush, I just fit the clean parts together and if it looks OK which it always does I fit it, though you have to watch as there are different size bushes on the later cars, the solid bushes never seem to be a problem, it is the roller race you have to watch although it seems that the camshaft can even suffer the abuse of a worn race as long as its not too bad, I am talking here of a standard car as I have no idea what would happen with a "cooking" engine.
