When I had a factory some years back I was sure someone was stealing my cakes of Solvol, which to uninitiated is a sandsoap, 'til I finally found the remains of a cake with teeth-marks. When diluted the soap has the consistency of grinding paste, so the rodents in the area would not only have reamed-out innards but were probably foaming at the mouth at the same time. On a serious note, it seems rats will eat anything, so constant vigilance is required in your garage. Have recently been in corres. per email with an American who found & bought a Wanderer W25K sports (same 1938 model as mine) which had sat in a hangar in U.S. for 50 years. Mechanically it was still in perfect order, but rats had eaten the leather seats away. I now check the leather seats in the Lanchester Leda at least once a week for evidence of visitors. Scary. Cheers, Bill
