Antony,
I think you need to very carefully read the VSCC rulebook. As I see it, but I may easily be wrong:
Firstly, hydraulic brakes are not allowed.
Secondly, only original Austin 19" and 18" (van) wheels are eligible - the rules state a simple fomula (-10% I think) for calculating how much smaller the wheels can be then the original 19" "Ulster" fitment, even if the car isn't a real one. 17" ones are just too small. I believe James Diffy used 18" ones to great success.
Thirdly, only original Austin (or pattern ones such as the late Alan Raeburn's) cylinder heads are allowed and if the late-Ruby high-compression one is used, has to fitted with 18mm plugs. Pre-War aluminium ones only are allowed, except that Alan's "Ulster" one cast in aluminium and sprayed black was ok!. The unmarked one may be thrown out by the scrutineers, even if it is pre-War, unless they recognise it I reckon.
Lastly, the manifolds I'm not sure about, but they would have to be "suitable" I expect.
You do need to check all the above carefully with a current scrutineer, as it may be hogwash nowadays!
Anything else other than VSCC and it's probably ok I suspect.
Best Wishes,
Barry.
